The Zamfara State APC leader and Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has distributed a total of 4,860 rams and N390 million to the people of Zamfara to celebrate Sallah with ease and happiness.
In a statement signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, APC Publicity Secretary for Zamfara State, the former governor's gesture, a tradition during such festivals, includes the distribution of rams and cash among beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries include members of the State Chapter of the APC Working Committee (SWC), as well as the party's executives at the local government and ward levels across all local government areas of the state.
Other beneficiaries are party elders, youth and women groups, Ulamas, less privileged persons, orphans, and needy individuals, along with party members throughout the state. Former appointees in Matawalle's administration, including commissioners, special advisers, directors general, senior special assistants, special assistants, permanent commissioners, and board members, were also included.
Additionally, 140 persons from the 14 local government areas of the state were selected and given N100,000 each to support them during the Sallah celebration.
Expressing his continued appreciation to the people of the Northwest Zone for their massive support during the 2023 Presidential election, where Matawalle served as the Zone's Coordinator, the Minister extended his Sallah gesture to notable figures of the zone.
He commended the overwhelming and continued support from the zone for the Tinubu-led administration, assuring that the government will continue to strive to improve the lives of the people by providing more dividends of democracy and ensuring the protection of lives and property.
