The employees of Adamawa State's Ministry for Local Government Affairs organized a party to commemorate the retirement of Mr. Joel Tika, Director of Local Government Affairs, who completed 35 years of government service in Yola.
During the reception, Commissioner Hon. Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinyawa praised Mr. Tika for his significant contributions to the state's development, stating that his dedication was unparalleled.
He remarked, "Mr. Tika has been an invaluable asset to our ministry for..., providing essential contributions to our successes. Having worked alongside him for three years, I've witnessed his dedication firsthand. Beyond his achievements for Adamawa, Mr. Tika has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure our collective success. We are grateful for his contributions and wish him the very best.
"As he departs today, he may no longer be within our immediate vicinity, but his legacy and influence remain. Together, we have built a stronger Adamawa, and though he may leave our ranks, he remains an integral part of our journey. To Mr. Tika, I say, you are not an outsider; you will always be one of us."
In his remarks to the media, Mr. Joel M. Tika expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him by the ministry's staff. He said, "I am deeply grateful to God for the recognition bestowed upon me by my colleagues at the Local Government Ministry, especially the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary. To my fellow employees, including directors and unit heads, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support throughout my tenure.
"The gifts and gestures of appreciation I received reflect the camaraderie we shared, which I truly cherished. My hope is that each of you finds fulfillment in your work, and that you too may be celebrated in due time."
Regarding his future plans, Mr. Tika stated, "I envision myself focusing on agriculture and potentially pursuing a career in politics when the time is right."
