The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has successfully completed a two-day screening process for local government election candidates in the state.

This pivotal phase of election preparation aims to ensure that all aspiring candidates meet requisite criteria and standards, thereby upholding the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

Alhaji Mohammed Umar, Chairman of ADSIEC, assured journalists that the entire process would be transparent, emphasizing that the victorious political party would be duly declared.

He also disclosed that 12 out of the state's 19 registered political parties will participate in the upcoming election.

Several candidates praised ADSIEC for the thoroughness and transparency of the screening process, expressing confidence in the commission's ability to conduct a fair exercise.

"The screening was rigorous and well-organized. It's reassuring to witness such dedication to ensuring that only qualified candidates can contest," remarked one candidate.

Observers, including security personnel, members of the board of internal revenue, civil society organizations, and the media, were present to oversee the proceedings, underscoring accountability and bolstering public trust in the electoral process.
