Shiite members in Zaria have marked the killing of 34 martryrs who lost their lives on Quds day in 2014 with visitation of their graves and collective prayers.
The event which was organized to mark the 10 year anniversary was held at the Darul Rahma burial ground in Dembo, Zaria.
Recall that those killed in the Quds day of 2014 include the three children of the national leader of the sect, Malam Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.
Speaking to newsmen, shortly after the prayers, the leader of the group in Zaria, Mallam Abdulhamid Bello said "Shiite members have gathered at the grave side to immortalize the 34 martryrs who lost their lives in 2014 while trying to depend the cause of Allah.
"We are also here to pray for their souls and remember their individual sacrifices that led to their untimely death." He said.
Bello who reaffirmed the determination of El-Zakzaky followers to continue to fight injustice and misrule, drew the attention of those at the helm of governance to trace history of their successors who fought the sect.
He said no amount of intimidation will stop members of the Shiite sect to deter from their belief and faith, stressing that every citizen has a constitutional right to practice any religion of their choice.
The leader therefore enjoined members of the sect not to relent in their propelling their belief, sacrifices and commitment towards the propagation of their religion till the end of their lives.
While praying for the repose of those that lost their lives, Bello affirmed that the remembrance will continue to be conducted on annual basis.
