During the presentation of certificates to engineers organized by the Nigerian Association of Engineers, Senator Ita Enang, former adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, emphasized the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure the newly established Dangote Refinery does not collapse. He accused some unpatriotic Nigerians of wanting the refinery to fail due to their hidden and selfish interests.

Senator Enang called on the certified engineers to uphold their responsibilities diligently for the development of the country. He also urged the leadership of the Nigerian Association of Engineers to collaborate to combat the issue of piracy, which he described as a significant setback for many upcoming engineers. He noted that in developed countries, piracy is a severe criminal offense with harsh punishments, contrasting with the situation in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Engineers, Eng. Alhassan Abdu Muhammad, thanked Almighty Allah for the successful conduct of the event, which he described as a remarkable achievement. He promised to introduce measures to promote members of the association by providing them with opportunities to work both within and outside the country in collaboration with the government.

Eng. Muhammad highlighted the challenge of Nigerians preferring foreign products over locally made ones and assured that efforts would be made to create a market for members' products both domestically and internationally. He called on the government to assist by providing employment opportunities for engineers, emphasizing their role in creating jobs for many Nigerian youths.

The chairman thanked all members for attending the meeting and urged them to be trustworthy, which he believes will promote both the association and its members to greater heights. He prayed for safe returns for all members to their various destinations and welcomed any members wishing to join the association.

The event was conducted at the association's headquarters in Abuja and was attended by state chairmen, national leaders of the association, and some top government functionaries.
