Our attention has been drawn to yet another mischievous publication by desperate political losers within the Zamfara APC, aimed at tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of our political mentor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji.

For the record, the picture released by these desperate politicians—showing NNPP National Leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso alongside Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji—is an old photograph taken before the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly. It was during a period when our political mentor visited influential party supporters across Nigeria to seek their backing for his candidacy for Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives.

In a statement signed by Mansur Khalifa Kaura, Acting Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, it was emphasized that, just as he visited Kwankwaso, our political leader, Aminu Sani Jaji, reached out to many prominent Nigerian politicians to canvass for their support in his bid for the Speaker's position. He worked tirelessly to pursue a genuine transformation agenda through effective legislation for the Nigerian people.

During that same period, there is evidence showing that former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, who also contested for the Senate President's position, made a similar visit to Kwankwaso. Additionally, another photo shows Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, alongside the suspended APC Zamfara State Chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani, making a similar visit to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso to canvass support for Senator Godswill Akpabio's candidacy.

To the best of our knowledge, those instigating this feud to frustrate Jaji and his supporters out of the APC are the same Zamfara politicians who sowed discord within the party. Their repeated failed promises to the people and their corrupt behaviour, characterized by serial looting of public funds while in power, caused significant harm to the APC, resulting in electoral losses in both the 2019 and 2023 general elections in the state. The 2023 elections, in particular, were described as “the worst political experience in Nigeria’s recent history.”

On this premise, we call on the APC leadership, under former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to rein in the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle. He continues to undermine the APC in Zamfara, seemingly determined to frustrate the party at all costs.

The national leadership of the APC should also take note of our earlier publication, where we highlighted Matawalle's role in financing the APC’s failures in Zamfara since the 2023 election season. Even now, he remains actively involved in the so-called mega-party project with the opposition group.

As for Aminu Jaji, we want to make it unequivocally clear that he has been a committed APC member all his life, with no intention of defecting from the party. The APC is a project in which he has invested heavily. He secured his local government for President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, delivered the state for Asiwaju, and mobilized resources to support the Asiwaju project across the entire North West as Director of Mobilization.

It is worth noting that the same Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Bello Matawalle, could not secure victory for Tinubu in Maradun, his own hometown. The Jajiya political movement of the APC had to step in to save the party and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, when it became apparent that the people of Maradun were casting protest votes against the APC during the presidential elections as a demonstration of their political anger against Governor Bello Matawalle and his administration.

Therefore, the campaign of destruction championed by Matawalle against the APC, following his loss of Maradun (11) constituency to the opposition PDP, should serve as an eye-opener for well-wishers of the APC and President Tinubu. They must closely monitor the actions of the Honourable Minister of State for Defence to prevent him from causing further problems for the APC ahead of the 2027 election.

We want to state categorically that the APC in Zamfara, under the leadership of Isiyaka Ajiya Anka, will remain steadfast in ensuring that enemies of the party are blocked from working to benefit the opposition.

Aminu Sani Jaji and his millions of supporters will remain in the APC and continue to support President Tinubu at all costs. We will resist any campaign of calumny aimed at tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of this Federal lawmaker.
