The Executive Chairman of the Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service (JIRS), Dr. Nasir Sabo Idris, has taken a significant step towards enhancing revenue generation in the state by collaborating with key stakeholders.

Dr. Nasir announced this initiative during a stakeholders' engagement meeting in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State. He stated that the partnership aims to ensure optimal revenue collection across all areas of the state.

During the meeting, Dr. Nasir, along with other senior management staff, sought the support of traditional rulers in establishing monitoring and inspection points throughout the state. He explained that this initiative would facilitate the observation, inspection, and enforcement of taxpayer compliance with the Jigawa State Revenue Administration Law.

Dr. Nasir expressed his satisfaction with the initiative and assured the board's commitment to implementing global best practices in tax collection processes, policies, and procedures across Jigawa State to maximize revenue.

He also acknowledged the growth and development in the state under Governor Umar Namadi’s administration and emphasized the importance of fulfilling tax obligations as a way of supporting the government's efforts.

The JIRS management team, during the program, highlighted the significance of tax collection, utilization, and the benefits of establishing monitoring points, marking a key step toward implementing this initiative.

The event was attended by directors from various departments, further demonstrating the agency's commitment to this collaboration.
