The Commander General of Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Dr. Umar Aliyu Shayi, participated in an interactive meeting held at the Bauchi State Police Command in commemoration of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) 2024 SERVICOM Week.

The meeting, which took place at the Commissioner of Police’s (CP) conference hall, brought together critical stakeholders, including representatives from the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), the National Human Rights Commission, and other key figures in Bauchi’s security architecture.

Key issues discussed during the meeting centered on ensuring sustainable peace across the state and promoting peaceful coexistence among its citizens.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sani Shuaibu, from the Department of Finance and Administration, who represented the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Mohammad.

Discussions also focused on the relationship between the police and the community, the level of police commitment, and their response to distress calls, among other important topics.

DCP Sani Shuaibu expressed appreciation for the support the police have received from the community and encouraged the public to continue providing first-hand intelligence to help combat crime across the state. He also commended Governor Bala Mohammed for providing the necessary support to the police in fulfilling their constitutional duties.

In his remarks, Dr. Shayi, who was represented by the Director of Human Resources and Administration, Malam Tasiu Mohammad Barau, applauded the Bauchi Police Command for its exceptional commitment, professionalism, and dedication to protecting lives and property in the state.

Malam Tasiu also urged the public to foster peaceful coexistence and called on them to support the police and other security agencies in effectively carrying out their duties, in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Police Act.
