The Chairman of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Kaduna (2) Zaria Branch, Professor Luka Mailafia, has commended the professionalism and maturity displayed by ANAN members in their respective duties, describing their performance as “encouraging and excellent.”
He made this statement during the 2024 Dinner and Award of Excellence ceremony, held at the NITT Zaria Conference Hall, where outstanding members and individuals were recognized for their contributions.
Professor Mailafia noted that leadership is a challenging responsibility and called for the continued support and cooperation of all ANAN members to achieve the association’s goals. He expressed gratitude to the members of the Kaduna (2) Zaria Branch for finding him worthy to lead and assured them of his unwavering commitment as Chairman.
The Chairman praised the unity and shared vision among members of the branch, highlighting their dedication as a model that distinguishes them from other branches.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Haruna Mohammed Jumare, Maradin Zazzau, applauded the Zaria Branch for emerging as a leading professional body, with a significant membership presence across institutions in Zaria and its environs. He expressed confidence in the members’ dedication to promoting ANAN's mission and values.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Ibrahim Doko Ahmed, stated that ABU boasts the highest number of ANAN members in its Accounts Section. He assured ANAN officials of the university management’s support, emphasizing that ABU remains open for any collaboration and assistance.
Similarly, the representative of the President and Chief Executive of ANAN, Council Member Adamu Abubakar, commended the Kaduna (2) Zaria Branch for its collective efforts in advancing the association's activities. Abubakar noted the consistency of the branch in executing its programs and urged members to remain steadfast in their commitment, as they have distinguished themselves in the field of accounting.
During the event, several distinguished personalities were honoured with the Award of Excellence in recognition of their outstanding contributions and service.
The awardees include Dr. Haruna Mohammed Jumare, Professor Kabiru Bala (Vice-Chancellor, ABU), the Auditor-General of Kaduna State, Dr. Muhammad Sani Uwais, Dr. Hadiza Ali (NITT Director-General), the Pioneer Chairman of ANAN Zaria Branch, Mr. Ishola, and the current Acting Bursar of FUE Zaria, Alhaji Kabiru, among others.
