Malam Iliyasu Balarabe (Jagaban Iyan Zazzau), the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria, was honored at the 1st Annual Programme organized by the Unguwan Liman-Madaka-Albarkawa Community in Zaria.
The event celebrated individuals from the community who have made significant contributions to its development and progress.
As part of the ceremony, Malam Iliyasu Balarabe empowered 200 petty traders by providing ₦20,000 each to improve their small businesses and enhance economic stability within the community. Several dignitaries were also presented with Excellence Awards, including Malam Umar Waziri, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State; Dr. Usman Dan Baba; and Dr. Haruna Muhammad Gidado, among others.
The award presented to Malam Iliyasu Balarabe recognized his selfless service to humanity, dedication to youth and women empowerment, and unwavering commitment to human development.
In his acceptance speech, Malam Iliyasu Balarabe, a native of Unguwan Liman-Madaka, expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue supporting the community.
He announced plans to empower more youths in 2025 by providing ₦100,000 each to discourage drug trafficking and foster positive engagement among young people.
