The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has extended his condolences to Alhaji Sanusi Umar-Gwandu, the Director of Finance at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), over the passing of his father, the late Umar Gwandu, Chief Imam of Gwandu town.

In a press statement signed by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the governor described the death of the late Chief Imam as a significant loss, not only to the people of Gwandu Emirate but also to Kebbi State and the nation at large. He highlighted the late Chief Imam’s contributions to the socio-economic and spiritual development of the region.

Governor Idris prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and urged the bereaved family to find strength and courage during this difficult time.

Responding on behalf of the family, the Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar-Waziri, expressed gratitude to the governor for his condolence visit and his continued support and care for the family. He prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the governor.

Special prayers were offered for the late Chief Imam during the visit.

The governor was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, and other top government officials.

The late Chief Imam, Umar Gwandu, passed away at the age of 98. He is survived by his wife, eight children, and numerous grandchildren. He was laid to rest according to Islamic rites in his hometown of Gwandu.
