Over one million youths from various foundations in Kebbi State have organized a solidarity walk in support of Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, endorsing his second-term bid to remain in office beyond 2027.

The walk, held in recognition of the achievements recorded during the first two years of his administration, brought together youths, women, and unions in a massive display of support.

In a statement issued by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, it was revealed that Governor Nasir Idris personally received the enthusiastic crowd on Wednesday. He expressed gratitude to the organizers and reiterated his administration's commitment to supporting organizations across the state.

“I am the happiest person today because of the overwhelming crowd I see here. I thank you for showing love and support for me and my administration. In Sha Allah, I will never disappoint you,” Governor Idris said.

“My government will continue to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every nook and cranny of Kebbi State,” he assured.

The rally was convened by Alhaji Kabir Sani-Giant, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs. He emphasized that the event demonstrated the unwavering support of the people for Governor Idris.

“The crowd you see here today is a testament to your widespread support. I assure you that we will stand by you during the 2027 general elections,” Sani-Giant said.

“The people of Kebbi State have fully endorsed you for another four-year term. In Sha Allah, you will retain your position in Government House, Birnin Kebbi. There is no opposition in the state today,” he added.

Hon. Umar Farouk Muslim, Commissioner for Works, praised Governor Idris’ developmental strides, stating that the turnout reflected the love and commitment of the people of Kebbi State.

“Your Excellency, you have nothing to worry about for 2027. You have achieved so much in a short time—constructing roads, healthcare centers, schools, and providing empowerment programs across the state,” he said.

The event highlighted the strong bond between the governor and the people of Kebbi State, with participants pledging continued support for his administration’s initiatives and future endeavors.
