The Inspire Youth for the Nation Foundation, under the leadership of its President, Engr. Ridwan Mika'il Fagaci, in collaboration with Global Hub Ventures, has organised a one-day capacity-building workshop to empower young people and women with practical knowledge of modern agriculture, digital entrepreneurship, and livestock farming.
The workshop, themed "Youth Mentorship," targeted youths and women from Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The event was held at the main conference hall of the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS), Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
It attracted youth leaders, student advocates from Ahmadu Bello University, and other stakeholders from Soba Local Government Area.
During the workshop, participants received training on modern farming techniques, digital entrepreneurship, and efficient livestock production methods. The sessions were designed to equip attendees with practical skills that would enhance self-reliance, create employment opportunities, and improve their economic well-being.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Inspire Youth for the Nation Foundation, Engr. Ridwan Mika'il Fagaci, commended the participants for their impressive turnout and commitment to acquiring knowledge.
He said access to practical skills and entrepreneurship training is essential to improving livelihoods and creating sustainable economic opportunities for young people.
Engr. Fagaci also called on political leaders and public office holders to prioritise policies and programmes that promote the welfare and development of the people they represent, particularly youths.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Soba Local Government Area, Alhaji Magaji Kado, and the party's Youth Leader described the initiative as timely, noting that programmes of this nature play a vital role in youth empowerment, skills development, and community growth.
As part of the programme, participants visited the National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI), Shika, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where they received practical exposure to livestock research and modern animal production techniques.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of awards to several outstanding community leaders in recognition of their contributions to youth empowerment and the socio-economic development of Soba Local Government Area.
