President Bola Tinubu has appointed Prof. Qurix Williams Barnabas as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK) in Kaduna State.

In addition, the President named other principal officers for the newly established institution, including Sanusi Gambo Adamu as Registrar, Ibrahim Dalhat as Bursar, and Prof. Daniel Abubakar as University Librarian.

Furthermore, Bishop Matthew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, has been appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council. Other Governing Council members include Mr. Thomas Etuh (North Central), Chief Fabian Nwaora (South East), Prof. Femi Taiwo (South West), and Zarah Bukar (North East).

The appointees were selected based on their proven leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to advancing education in Nigeria.

President Tinubu urged them to provide visionary leadership and build a strong foundation for FUASK, emphasizing its role in fostering research, innovation, and practical learning. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education reform under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

FUASK, formerly known as Nok University, was renamed after the federal government acquired its assets. The university is set to admit its first set of students in September 2025.
