A Bauchi-based charity organisation, Wunti Al-khair Foundation, has launched a large-scale Ramadan food distribution program, providing rice to less privileged Muslim communities across the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State.

Our correspondent reports that the initiative is being conducted in phases, starting with beneficiaries from Katagum, Zaki, Gamawa, and Giade Local Government Areas.

The Programme Manager of the foundation, Mr. Mustapha Ango told journalists on Friday that the initiative aims to support 250 beneficiaries in each local government area, carefully selected from vulnerable residents, persons with disabilities, and other needy groups.

He emphasised that the effort is designed to bring much-needed relief to struggling families, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Also speaking, an official in the foundation, Isiyaka Wunti, in addition to the Ramadan food distribution, the Wunti Al-khair foundation engages in various other charitable activities, including free medical outreach programs and education scholarships for underprivileged members of society.

Beneficiaries of the program expressed heartfelt gratitude to the foundation.

Auwalu Bala from Bununu in Tafawa Balewa Local Government said the assistance had brought immense joy to his family, while Larai Haruna, another beneficiary, shared that she had no rice to cook before receiving the donation.

"The Wunti Al-khair Foundation's selfless efforts have brought smiles to many families in Bauchi State, embodying the true spirit of compassion and generosity that defines Ramadan," they said.
