The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has thanked President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for appointing Alhaji Abubakar Gari-Mallam as the  new Managing Director of Sokoto River Basin Development Authority.

He made this known on Wednesday when he received the newly appointed MD of the authority in Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

Receiving the appointment letter, Gov. Idris expressed delight that Mr President had fulfilled his promise, recalling that he (Mr President ) had assured him that "an indigene of Kebbi State will occupy the seat and it will be given to Alhaji Abubakar Gari-Mallam.

"Mr president is a leader and an elder with sense of integrity. We are grateful to God Almighty and at the same time, we thank our president for fulfilling his pledge, I am certain, other appointments are also on the way In-sh-Allah," he assured.

In his response, the newly appointed Sokoto River Basin Development Authority MD, Alhaji Abubakar Gari-Mallam thanked the Kebbi State Governor for facilitating the actualisation of his appointment.

"I have nothing to offer to you rather than to pray for you, your family and the entire people of Kebbi State. I knew what you did for me, all this while I have been in opposition party and I knew what I went through.

"May Allah (SWT) protect you in the hands of your enemies and give you more wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state," he prayed.

Gari-Malam then assured the governor and the people of Kebbi State that he would not disappoint them while managing the affairs of the organisation.

He solicited for prayers from all and sundry to enable him discharge his duties diligently towards taking the authority to greater height of development.
