The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, has condemned the recent attack by suspected Lakurawa bandits at Yola District in Augie Local Government Area of the state. 

Condoling the community at the village, which is under Argungu Emirate, the governor described the act as barbaric and inhuman that needed urgent government intervention.

Gov. Idris urged the community to accept what happened as an inevitable incident that God Almighty had already predestined it to occur.

While assuring the people that government was doing everything possible to protect their lives and property, the governor prayed to God Almighty to put an end to recurrence of such ugly events.

He appealed to the people to be wary of their lives, "safety of your lives is more important than anything, therefore, people have to be very careful, these bandits are carrying sophisticated weapons.

"In case of anything, try to reach out to security agencies for possible assistance. Please, whenever you see something strange try to liaise with the security agencies, give them credible information that will aid them discharge their duties."

The governor then donated the sum of N50 million to the families of the deceased and those who sustained injuries.

Responding on behalf of the community, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama'ila Muhammad-Mera appreciated the governor for the condolence visit and prayed that such ungodly incident would never happen again. 

Alhaji Yahaya Augie, the Local Government Council Chairman also thanked the governor for his prompt reaction to the attack and subsequent visit to the affected villages.
