Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has applauded President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for establishing Northwest Development Commission.

He made this known when the Chairman and other members of the commission paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

Gov. Idris observed that establishment of the commission would certainly facilitate more development across the region in general and Kebbi State in particular.

He assured the readiness of his administration to support the commission in any ramification to enable it achieve its mandate.

The governor also donated two Hilux vehicles to the commission to ease smooth operation in the state.

"I am the most happiest person at this moment because I knew that the commission will reach all the cardinal areas that their work supposed to reach.

"Kebbi is an agricultural state, therefore, we need more collaboration from different organisations both governmental and non-governmental," he said.

In his speech, the chairman Northwest Development Commission, Lawal Ismail-Yakawada told the governor that the visit aimed at seeking blessing and synergy with the state government.

He said that Kebbi State remained part and parcel of the commission and assured the commission's commitment to bring development to the state most especially in agriculture.

"Kebbi is now the food basket of the nation because it's a state that has all the agricultural potentialities, we are glad to join you to reap the fruits therein in agriculture," he noted.

Ismail-Yakawada commended the efforts of the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for putting the state in high quality standards.

"We visited some places where we saw the construction of roads, streetlights, new ultramodern secretaries, new modern motor park among others," he said.
