Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has paid a private visit to CSS Global Integrated Farms, located along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway in Nasarawa State.
The visit underscores Governor Bago’s proactive approach to enhancing the agricultural sector in Niger State. His mission was to explore potential areas of collaboration between the state government and the private farm to boost agricultural productivity.
Expressing satisfaction with the farm's facilities and vast potential, Governor Bago stated that the state government will soon dispatch a team to the farm to initiate discussions on partnerships. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the government and private sector in fostering innovation and improving agricultural outcomes.
Governor Bago and his entourage were received by the Founder of CSS Farms, Professor John Kennedy Okpara, who led them on a tour of the farm's operations. The team was shown several key areas of the farm, including greenhouse technology, irrigation systems, organic composting, poultry, fishery, and mechanized farming. The farm also produces a wide range of locally packaged agricultural products.
The governor’s visit is expected to open avenues for knowledge sharing, networking, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices—key elements in driving growth in the state's agribusiness landscape.
