The Kaduna State Community and Social Development Agency (KADCSDA) paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau at the Zazzau Emirate Council in Zaria earlier today, as part of its ongoing community engagement and awareness campaign.

The visit, which featured the formal presentation of a compendium of reports and pictorial achievements, is an integral part of the Community Development Plan (CDP) cycle. It reflects the agency’s commitment to continuous stakeholder engagement, particularly with traditional institutions that play a crucial role in reaching the poor and vulnerable across communities.

During the visit, the General Manager of KADCSDA, Dr. Muhammed Mu’azu Mukaddas, outlined the agency’s notable achievements in areas including education, healthcare, water and sanitation, labour-intensive public workfare, and livelihood support. He reported that the agency has implemented 187 micro-projects across 177 communities in all 23 local government areas of Kaduna State. These projects include the renovation of 77 classroom blocks, 13 healthcare centres, and the drilling of 81 motorized boreholes. The agency also provided labour-intensive work opportunities for 5,112 beneficiaries and supported 1,335 individuals through its livelihood programs.

Dr. Mukaddas emphasized the importance of collaboration between KADCSDA and the Emirate Council in order to raise awareness within communities. He called on the Emirate to assist in encouraging communities to express interest and submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to the agency. This, he said, would ensure that more communities are included in the agency’s database and stand a chance of benefiting from future interventions. He reaffirmed that such partnerships are essential to advancing grassroots development in line with the vision of the administration led by Governor Uba Sani.

In his remarks, His Royal Highness, Amb. Dr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli CFR, the Emir of Zazzau, commended the agency for its impactful work and urged that more interventions be directed toward communities to improve their access to livelihoods and basic infrastructure. He praised Dr. Mukaddas for his leadership and expressed his best wishes for the agency as it prepares to roll out its projects for 2025.
