In a swift and compassionate response to the recent fire outbreak at Yan Goro Market in Hanwa Ward, the Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, Hon. Abubakar Jamilu Albani of Samaru Zaria, has launched the official distribution of ₦100,000 in cash relief to each affected trader.

The fire, which destroyed several shops and left traders facing severe losses, drew widespread concern from the local community. The relief initiative, led by Hon. Albani, is aimed at helping the victims begin the process of recovery and rebuilding their businesses.

Speaking at the distribution event held on the market grounds, Hon. Albani addressed the victims directly, assuring them of the council’s unwavering support.

“This support is a symbol of solidarity with our people. While it may not restore everything lost, it is meant to ease the burden and help our traders return to business,” he stated.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the prompt intervention, noting that the funds would assist in restocking goods and repairing damaged stalls. Community leaders and residents commended the chairman’s proactive approach, describing the gesture as timely and impactful.

Hon. Albani also revealed that the local government is implementing long-term safety measures to enhance fire prevention and emergency response across markets in Sabon Gari.

The relief effort underscores the administration’s continued commitment to grassroots empowerment and effective disaster response.
