Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has called on residents of the state to uphold the spirit of peace, unity, and selflessness during the Easter holiday.

As Christians around the world commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Governor Fintiri, reflecting on biblical teachings, urged citizens to extend love and generosity to the less privileged.

In a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor emphasized that Jesus Christ gave himself for the healing of the world, not its destruction.

“This is a special time, especially for Christians, when they remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we enter into the Easter season, let’s once again reflect on its essence — a season of sacrifice and love, just as Jesus was sacrificed for the sake of humanity and peace,” the statement read.

Governor Fintiri encouraged Christians to remember Christ’s saving grace and to show kindness to those in need.

“Let us deliberately make it our responsibility to spread love by extending a helping hand to the needy this Easter, in line with the extraordinary love that Jesus Christ demonstrated by dying for mankind on the cross,” he said.

The governor also called for sustained unity and peace in Adamawa State, urging citizens to commit to a shared vision of progress and harmony.

“I send you this message of goodwill and best wishes, praying that we continue to uphold the unity that binds us together. Let’s keep building our state into one we are proud of — a place of forgiveness, coexistence, and peace,” Governor Fintiri said.

“May this Easter bring us all peace, joy, and a renewed commitment to national unity,” he concluded.
