By Babangida KAKAKI

As part of his usual arrogance and disdainful attitude on media, the Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, one Ibrahim Musa has barred journalists from covering Northern Governor's Meeting at Government house.

The unfortunate and humiliating incident occurred Friday when the NGF were about to arrive for their usual meetings at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

Musa, who has been disdainful and vindictive to media practitioners since he was coopted into the Elrufai administration and his second reappointment by Gov. Sani, has told the NUJ leadership that, whoever complain about it, tells him, "It's me PS that barred journalists to cover the NGF meeting.'

Almost all journalists that went to the government house were turned back disappointed as their names was not among the list he submitted to enter the venue and cover the event.

"It's uncalled for, counterproductive and saddening for his principal Governor Uba Sani known to be media-friendly to allow him treat media practitioners with disdain, disrespect and envy of such magnitude," says a veteran journalist, Ibrahim Bungus.

Even the Kaduna State NUJ Chairman Abdulgaffar Alabewele has expressed his anger and disappointment on Ibrahim Musa's blameworthy attitude against his members, saying he is not going to attend despite his name is among Musa's list.

Musa who claims to be a trained journalists is known among media circles as disrespectful, envious and jealous to journalists, bad attitudes that manifest when he was appointed by Former Governor Elrufai. "He is among the ones that misled Elrufai to hate the media and descent on them with disdain," one journalist Mahmud Sani said.

"Now he lobbied his way again into Governor Uba Sani displaying the same arrogance, hatred and envy on journalists with impunity," the journalist concluded.

It could be recalled that, when Principal Private Secretary PPS to Governor Uba Sani, Professor Bello Ayuba came to the NUJ secretariat and promised that, periodic media ministerial briefings would be held at their Secretariat, but Ibrahim Musa stopped and changed it to be held at government house, in which he barred journalists from attendance, only a select group of Journalists those he wants.

Members of NUJ, victims of Musa's disdainful behaviour are annoyed and calling on Governor Uba Sani to call him to order to even remove him from such sensitive position.

"We are calling on Gov. Uba Sani as a media-friendly person to remove Ibrahim Musa because incompetent, disdainful, envious, arrogant and unqualified to handle his media activities. He is among those who misled his predecessor Elrufai. Now he found his ways to spoil Gov. Sani's goodwill to the media."

Ibrahim Musa is known within media circle as pugnacious, disrespectful and always envious to his colleagues. He always looks depressed and miserable because of psychological trauma.

When journalists make efforts to hear his reaction, he refused to answer calls displaying his usual arrogant attitude.

  1. This report is total rubbish. Whoever wrote this nonsense is just being mischievous because I attended the event. In fact there were even more journalists than policemen at the northern Governors meeting.
