As part of preparations for the upcoming 2025 Eid al-Adha celebration, the Bauchi State Government has commenced the distribution of sacrificial animals to Muslim faithful across the state.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, is aimed at bringing joy and relief to Muslim communities during the festive season.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, the Commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Hajiya Hajara Wanka, said the gesture underscores the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens, especially during significant religious occasions.
“This is part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s continuous efforts to ensure that Muslim faithful across Bauchi State celebrate Sallah with happiness and dignity,” she said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Distribution Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Aminu Hammayo, represented by Alhaji Hashimu Yakubu, noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to promoting the well-being of its people.
He added that the government will continue to implement people-oriented policies that prioritize compassion, inclusiveness, and social welfare.
Beneficiaries across various communities have begun receiving the animals, with local leaders commending the state government for the timely intervention.
