Leader of the Islamic movement in
Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has expressed deep sorrow and sympathy over
the devastating flood that struck Mokwa in Niger State, claiming several lives
and leaving many others injured and displaced.
In a condolence message released on Monday,
June 2, 2025, through his official media office, Sheikh Zakzaky extended
heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and
prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and comfort for all affected by
the disaster.
“It is with heartfelt sympathy we
received the sad news of the dreadful and damaging flood that struck Mokwa,”
the statement read. “We pray to Almighty Allah to bestow mercy on those whose
lives have departed in the tragic incident and grant their families the
fortitude to bear the sudden loss.”
The cleric also prayed for the quick
recovery of the injured and called on Almighty Allah to protect communities
from such calamities in the future.
The tragic flood, which caused
widespread destruction, has sparked national concern and sympathy, with relief
efforts ongoing to support the affected population.
