The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, led senior officers of the Nigerian Army on a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Friday, as part of events marking the 2025 Army Day Celebration, which Kaduna State is hosting.

Welcoming the delegation, Governor Uba Sani praised the Army’s enduring role in safeguarding national unity and security, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the state government and the military in restoring peace across Kaduna.

“We are honored to host this year’s Army Day Celebration. Kaduna is not only a strategic hub for the military but also a home that shares a deep bond with the Nigerian Armed Forces,” Governor Sani stated.

The Chief of Army Staff lauded the Kaduna State Government for its inclusive governance and the success of the Kaduna Peace Model, describing it as instrumental in stabilizing previously volatile communities. He commended the administration’s continued support for security agencies operating in the state.

Governor Sani reaffirmed Kaduna’s commitment to providing logistical support and fostering inter-agency partnerships. He noted that the Kaduna Peace Model has delivered measurable improvements in security and community cohesion, especially in areas previously plagued by unrest.

“Our people are grateful to the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment, sacrifices, and professionalism. We recognize and honor the courage of our troops who continue to defend the integrity of our nation,” he said.

Kaduna, home to key military institutions like the Nigerian Defence Academy and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, has long held a central role in shaping the leadership of the Armed Forces.

The governor extended a warm welcome to the Nigerian Army for the 2025 celebration, expressing hope that the occasion would further cement the relationship between the military and Kaduna residents, and renew a shared commitment to national unity and peace.

The 2025 Army Day Celebration is expected to include a series of parades, community outreach programs, and security briefings aimed at strengthening civil-military relations.
