The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity, and Development Initiative has inaugurated its standing committees and interim state coordinators in Kaduna, marking a major step toward deepening its organizational framework.
Chairing the event, Honourable Bature Umar Masari commended the leadership of the initiative for its foresight and dedication. He congratulated the newly appointed members and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, discipline, and humility.
Hon. Masari expressed optimism that the initiative would continue to grow into a significant force for unity, peace, and development across Northern Nigeria and the country at large.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Director-General of the initiative, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, highlighted the crucial role the appointees are expected to play in advancing the organization’s vision.
“The standing committees and state coordinators are vital to achieving our mission. They will champion unity, peace, development, and promote good governance and civic engagement throughout Northern Nigeria,” Dr. Idris stated.
He noted that the initiative is committed to public enlightenment programs focused on educating citizens about their fundamental rights, including access to life, security, education, healthcare, and holistic development.
Dr. Idris listed the newly inaugurated committees as the Planning and Strategy Committee, Finance Committee, and Media and Publicity Committee. He emphasized their strategic importance in mobilizing resources, guiding implementation, and projecting the initiative’s values.
“The state coordinators will serve as mobilizers and leaders in their respective states. They will be responsible for building robust structures and promoting the initiative’s mission at the grassroots level,” he said.
He described the inauguration as a milestone for the organization and called on all appointees to approach their duties with diligence, professionalism, and a deep sense of responsibility.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Comrade Garba Muhammad, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
“I sincerely thank the leadership for this appointment. On behalf of the media and communications team, I pledge our utmost commitment, professionalism, and creativity in advancing the vision of the Arewa Cohesion Initiative. We will ensure that the message of unity and development reaches every citizen,” he stated.
The event concluded with renewed optimism about the initiative’s potential to positively impact Northern Nigeria’s socio-political landscape and foster national cohesion.
