The Member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petitions, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. La’ori, represented the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, at a public hearing on the bill seeking to amend the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau Act No. 35 of 2022 (HB 2108).
The hearing was conducted by the Joint Committees on Special Duties and Aviation and held at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
In his opening remarks, Rep. La’ori underscored the critical role of stakeholder engagement in strengthening the Act, noting that amendments must aim to enhance safety, transparency, and accountability within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The hearing was attended by top officials from all agencies under the Federal Ministries of Aviation and Special Duties, who came to present their views and recommendations on the proposed amendments.
Also present were Hon. Fred Agbedi, Chairman of the House Committee on Special Duties, the Chairman of the Committee on Aviation, and other distinguished members of the House of Representatives.
