In a commendable show of commitment to education and community development, the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Honourable Jamilu Abubakar Albani, has sponsored the school fees of 69 orphaned and underprivileged students at Al-Makkah Academy.
Hon. Albani, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), said the gesture is part of his administration’s deliberate efforts to uplift the less privileged and ensure inclusive access to education.
“We remain committed to supporting orphans and vulnerable children in our communities. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background,” the chairman said.
This is not the first time Hon. Albani is extending such support. In recent months, he has covered examination fees for secondary school students sitting for WAEC and NECO, and also provided financial assistance to students in tertiary institutions. He reaffirmed his dedication to continuing these interventions by identifying deserving individuals and equipping them with education and vocational skills for self-reliance.
Some of the beneficiaries, speaking with our correspondent, expressed deep gratitude to the chairman for what they described as a life-changing opportunity. They offered prayers for his continued success and well-being.
Residents of Samaru and surrounding communities also lauded the initiative, praising the chairman for his generosity and commitment to social development.
"We sincerely appreciate this gesture. May Allah reward him abundantly," said a community elder in Samaru.
Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Albani’s consistent support for education continues to make a lasting impact across Sabon Gari, offering hope and opportunity to those who need it most.
