Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago—popularly known as the "Farmer Governor"—has congratulated the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, celebrated on October 1, 2025.
In a goodwill message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago described turning 60 as a major life milestone worthy of celebration.
“Sixty years is a diamond jubilee—a significant age that marks a life of purpose and achievement. It is indeed a cause for celebration,” he said.
Governor Bago hailed the Speaker as a calm, humble, passionate, and intelligent lawmaker who has made impactful contributions to the National Assembly since his election in 2011.
He commended Abbas for his exemplary leadership of the 10th House of Representatives, describing it as a testament to his competence, experience, and dedication to strengthening Nigeria's democratic institutions.
According to the Governor, the Speaker’s tenure has been marked by peace, unity, and bipartisan cooperation, driven by a shared commitment to national progress.
Governor Bago offered prayers for continued good health, wisdom, and long life for the Speaker as he steers the affairs of the Green Chamber.
