The Muslim Ummah today stands shattered by artificial borders and shackled by the arrogance of its enemies. Once a united force that struck fear into tyrants and brought justice to the oppressed, it has now been reduced to a collection of weak, dependent states, enslaved by America and humiliated by the illegitimate Zionist entity. The proud Ummah that Allah described as “the best of nations” has been betrayed by rulers who kneel before Washington and Tel Aviv while their people languish in poverty, their lands invaded, and their sanctities desecrated.

Allah reminds us in the Qur’an: “You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah” (Qur’an 3:110). How far the Ummah has fallen from this noble standard, when its leaders now forbid resistance and enjoin subservience to arrogance.

The deliberate fragmentation of the Ummah into nation-states was a colonial project designed to weaken Islam from within. Borders were drawn not to empower Muslims but to divide them, ensuring that loyalty to flag and throne would outweigh loyalty to Allah and His Messenger. Today, this legacy of division has left Muslims unable to act as one body, paralysed while their enemies strike them one after another.

The Prophet (SAWA) said: “The believers, in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion, are like a single body; if one part of it suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever”. Yet today, when Gaza burns, when Palestine bleeds, when even Qatar is bombed in defiance of sovereignty, the rest of the Ummah lies silent, as if no pain courses through its veins.

America, the self-proclaimed guardian of “freedom,” has enslaved Muslim governments with political dictates, economic chains, and military bases. And worse still, the Zionist regime continues its campaign of blood and terror, desecrating Al-Aqsa, massacring Palestinians, and occupying Muslim land with brazen impunity. The latest insult is Israel’s bold attack on Qatar, which exposed the depth of our humiliation. A sovereign Muslim nation was assaulted in defiance of international law and United Nations orders, yet Muslim rulers responded with nothing but timid silence. The enemies of Islam know they can violate Muslim sovereignty without consequence, for the rulers of the Ummah fear them more than they fear Allah.

Allah warns us: “And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their way. Say, ‘Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance’” (Qur’an 2:120). But the rulers of today rush to win the approval of those who will never accept them, sacrificing Palestine, selling oil, and legitimising oppression, all in exchange for fleeting promises of protection.

The Qur’an declares, “Do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers” (Qur’an 3:139). Yet today, Muslims live in weakness not because they lack numbers or resources, but because their leaders have traded honour for servility. They normalise ties with Israel while Palestinians bleed, they host American bases while their lands are bombed, and they abandon their brothers and sisters for the approval of tyrants.

Amid this darkness, Iran stands as a shining exception. Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Iran has proven that Muslims can defy arrogance and reclaim dignity. While others bow to America, Iran rejects its hegemony. While others normalise with Israel, Iran arms the oppressed and declares the Zionist entity illegitimate. Despite sanctions and conspiracies, Iran has endured, guided by the principle of “Neither East nor West, but Islam.” Its steadfastness offers a model for the liberation of the Ummah.

Imam Ali (AS) once said: “By Allah, I will continue to fight them until they submit to the truth, as long as I have a single breath left in me.” Such courage is the spirit the Ummah desperately needs today—courage to resist oppression, to unite under Islam, and to reject humiliation.

If Muslims wish to rise from their disgrace, they must abandon the chains of division, reject the servitude of corrupt rulers, and embrace unity under Islam. The path forward is not appeasement but resistance, not silence but defiance. The Ummah must reclaim its self-esteem, confront arrogance, and stand for the oppressed with courage and faith.

History will not forgive an Ummah that remains silent while its dignity is trampled and its sanctities violated. The question before us is clear: will Muslims remain shattered and shackled, or will they rise once more as a united force of justice, following the example of resistance and dignity? The answer will determine the destiny of the Ummah in this age of trial.
