In a significant move to bolster security and enhance crime-fighting efforts, the Jigawa State Government has donated ten Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force.
Nine of the vehicles were presented to the Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Dahiru, while one was handed over to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Baba Haruna, the Squadron Commander of the 35 Police Mobile Force, Dutse. The gesture underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
During the official handover ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, stated that the initiative aligns with Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s administration’s priority of ensuring peace and stability throughout Jigawa State.
He said, “It is our constitutional and moral responsibility to do whatever is possible to secure the safety of lives and property of our citizens. Ensuring their safety is the fundamental essence of government.”
In his response, CP Muhammed Dahiru commended the state government for its continuous support and assured that the vehicles would be effectively utilized to enhance policing and improve security operations.
Jigawa State, widely regarded as one of the most peaceful states in the country, remains committed to supporting security agencies with the necessary resources to sustain peace and combat emerging security challenges.
