The Kaduna State Government has completed a 35-kilometre asphalt road linking Gadar Gayan in Igabi Local Government Area to Maraban Kujama in Chikun Local Government Area, with a spur through Gwaraji in Kajuru Local Government Area.
The project, which also features a 130-metre bridge across the River Kaduna, cuts across 76 farming communities and connects three local government areas, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure development.
Groundbreaking for the road was performed in January last year by the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani. Construction was executed by Messrs Mothercat Nigeria Limited, a globally recognised road construction firm.
Described as the longest asphalt road built in Kaduna State in the last 20 years, the project is expected to significantly improve connectivity, ease the movement of people and agricultural produce, and stimulate economic activities across the benefiting communities.
State officials said the road forms part of Governor Uba Sani’s rural transformation initiative aimed at boosting local economies and improving livelihoods in underserved areas.
