The maiden edition of the Zazzau Media and Communication Conference (ZAM-COC 1.0) has been described as a remarkable success by its organisers, who said the event marked a bold step toward strengthening media practice and collaboration in the region.
This was contained in a statement signed by Madiha Zarruk on behalf of the Organising Committee at the conclusion of the conference.
According to the statement, the organisers expressed deep appreciation to distinguished guests and speakers, including Dr. Kabiru Dalladi Lawanti and Dr. Hashim Muhammad Suleiman of the Department of Mass Communication, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria; Malam Mohammad Dahiru Lawal, Head of Innovations and Fact-Checking Projects at PRNigeria; Malam Bello Wakili, State House Correspondent of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN); Malam Yusuf Jibril, Manager of Queen FM Radio, Zaria; and Malama Khadija Suleiman, Head of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic (NUBAPOLY), Zaria, among others.
The organisers noted that the speakers provided valuable insights on artificial intelligence, fact-checking, digital media, and the future of storytelling, describing their contributions as both enriching and inspiring.
Participants were also commended for their active engagement, critical questions, and enthusiasm, which, the committee said, demonstrated that the future of media in Zazzau and beyond is promising.
The statement further appreciated vendors and exhibitors for adding creativity and innovation to the conference, thereby strengthening the growing media ecosystem in the area.
Special gratitude was extended to the Management of the National Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) for hosting the event and providing what the organisers described as an enabling environment that made the vision a reality.
“Zazzau Media and Communication Conference 1.0 was not just an event — it was a statement that the media community in our region is ready to evolve, collaborate, and lead,” the statement added.
The committee expressed optimism about the future and confirmed that plans are underway for the second edition of the conference.
