Former Governor of Kano State and National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has extended his deepest sympathies to victims of the devastating fire currently raging at the popular Singer Market in Kano.
Kwankwaso, in a statement on Saturday, described the incident as tragic and heartbreaking, noting that many traders and families have been severely affected by the inferno.
He called on relevant government agencies, including the Federal Fire Service and the Kano State Fire Service, to intensify efforts to bring the situation under control and prevent further destruction.
The former governor also appealed to security agencies, humanitarian organisations, well-meaning individuals and the private sector to urgently mobilise support for victims of the fire.
According to him, assistance should include firefighting resources, emergency medical aid and relief materials to help cushion the impact of the disaster on those affected.
Kwankwaso stressed the need for a coordinated emergency response to contain the inferno and alleviate the suffering of traders and residents impacted by the incident.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts were ongoing to extinguish the fire, while the extent of damage and possible casualties had yet to be officially confirmed by authorities.
