A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has challenged governorship aspirants within the party to present verifiable records of achievement ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party stalwart said only candidates with tangible projects and credible track records should be entrusted with leadership, stressing that political visibility alone is insufficient.
“Those seeking leadership must show tangible projects and credible track records, not mere political relevance,” he said.
He also called for a change in the state’s leadership, attributing rising insecurity, unemployment and poverty to what he described as poor governance and a lack of impactful leadership.

According to him, the APC should aim to secure a two-term mandate to implement meaningful reforms and ensure sustainable development.

“We need continuity. The APC cannot afford to govern for just one term; we must plan for eight years to deliver real change,” he added.
The stalwart further criticised the use of financial inducements to influence young voters during elections, warning that such practices undermine democratic values.
He urged the electorate to make informed choices, noting that the power to shape the future of the state rests with the people, based on their assessment of past and present administrations.

He also expressed support for a governorship aspirant he described as credible, business-oriented and free from corruption allegations, adding that the candidate has contributed to society through scholarships and youth empowerment initiatives.

In a related development, Dr Hassan Halim, the First Mai Barno of Dass, called on APC members—particularly at the grassroots—to rally behind Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, a governorship aspirant, to position Bauchi State as a business hub in the North-East.
