The Emir of Zamfara, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad (CON), has expressed condolences to the family and people of Anka Emirate following the killing of a senior palace guard, Jamilu Dogari, by bandits.
Dogari was reportedly attacked and killed along the Mayanchi–Anka Road while returning from an official assignment in Gusau.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Gusau by the Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, Abdullahi Muhamud Birnin Magaji, the Emir described the incident as tragic and deeply painful.
According to the statement, the assailants attempted to abduct the deceased, but he resisted and was subsequently shot dead. Two other occupants of the vehicle reportedly survived the attack.
The Emir described the late Dogari as a brave and dedicated guard, noting that his death was a significant loss to the emirate.
He also commended security personnel for recovering the body after the incident was reported, adding that the deceased was found with gunshot wounds.
The Emir further appreciated traditional rulers within and outside Zamfara State for their show of solidarity and condolences to the Anka Emirate during the period of mourning.
