Members of the Nasara Drivers Association, a transport union operating passenger services along the Zaria–Saminaka–Jos route, have distributed Eid clothing to orphans and other vulnerable residents in Zaria.
The humanitarian gesture was carried out on Saturday, March 14, 2026, as part of the drivers’ group's efforts to support disadvantaged members of the community ahead of the Eid celebrations marking the end of Ramadan.
The association, which was established to foster cooperation and mutual assistance among drivers in their daily operations, provided newly sewn Sallah clothing to several orphaned children and other needy individuals.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the association's chairman, Malam Ibrahim Musa, explained that the items distributed were not donations from external organisations but were purchased through contributions from the drivers themselves.
According to him, members of the group voluntarily contributed small amounts of money, which were pooled together to purchase the clothing materials before they were distributed to the beneficiaries.
He noted that the initiative was carried out in the spirit of compassion and community service, expressing hope that Allah would bless their efforts and protect them in their daily work.
Parents and guardians of the orphaned children who benefited from the gesture expressed appreciation to the association, offering prayers for the continued success and safety of the drivers.
The distribution took place at the driver’s office located in the Jushi area of Zaria.
