The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has commissioned a newly constructed central Juma’at mosque with a capacity to accommodate 4,000 worshippers at the Federal University of Education Zaria.
The commissioning ceremony took place after Friday prayers and was attended by prominent dignitaries from different sectors.

Speaking at the event, Professor Muhammad Arsalan said he facilitated the connection between the university and A.A Rano for the execution of the mosque project.

He expressed satisfaction with the positive response shown by A.A Rano from the initial request to the successful completion of the project.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Bunkure, also expressed gratitude to A.A Rano for the gesture and prayed for divine blessings upon him.
In his remarks, Abbas Tajuddeen pledged to donate an ambulance and ₦20 million to support the activities of the mosque.
The Emir of Zazzau commended A.A Rano for the significant contribution and urged other wealthy individuals to emulate him by using their resources for charitable and community development projects.

In his own speech, A.A Rano said he was impressed by the honesty, trust, and transparency demonstrated by those who supervised the project from inception to completion.

The mosque complex also includes a clinic to cater for the healthcare needs of students and residents of surrounding communities, an MSS centre, and a cafeteria.

Religious scholars at the event advised the mosque management to establish a mediation and reconciliation unit to help resolve disputes amicably without resorting to the courts or the police.

Thousands of worshippers attended the first Friday prayer held at the new mosque, while the event concluded peacefully.
