The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall, former Managing Director of the Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV), who died after a brief illness.
Governor Mohammed described the death of the veteran broadcaster as a significant loss not only to his immediate family but also to the media profession and the entire people of Bauchi State.
He noted that the late Ibrahim Idris Shall was a seasoned broadcaster, accomplished media administrator, and one of the finest television professionals the state has ever produced.
According to the Governor, the deceased distinguished himself throughout his career with exceptional professionalism, dedication, and commitment to the growth and development of the media industry. He rose steadily through the ranks, serving at various times as Reporter, News Editor, Director of News and Current Affairs, and later as Managing Director of BATV, where he left behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and hard work.
Governor Mohammed also recalled the late media icon’s contributions during his tenure as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, where he worked tirelessly to promote the welfare of journalists and strengthen the practice of responsible journalism in the state.
On behalf of his family, the Government of Bauchi State, and the people of the state, the Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the management and staff of BATV, the NUJ Bauchi State Council, and the entire media community.
He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, friends, colleagues, and associates the strength to bear the loss.
