• Says judgment aimed at causing panic
• Vows party will contest 2027, files appeal Monday

National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Seriake Dickson, has appealed to the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, his running mate, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other members not to abandon the party following a Federal High Court judgment that questioned the legality of its registration.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today, Dickson dismissed reports of possible defections, insisting the ruling was designed to create panic and weaken the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

He maintained that the NDC remains a legally recognised political party and assured supporters that all its candidates would be uploaded to INEC's portal and appear on the ballot.

Describing the Lokoja judgment as a "serious judicial error," Dickson said the party would challenge the decision at the Court of Appeal rather than petition the judge before the National Judicial Council.

"We are not afraid. Our candidates remain steadfast, and justice will prevail," he declared.
