The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Zamfara Central, Dr. Sanusi Bala Turaki (Sarkin Dawakin Mai Tuta), has pledged to prioritise support for security agencies and the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) if elected in the 2027 general election.
Dr. Turaki made the pledge while speaking with journalists in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
He said one of his top priorities would be to work towards strengthening security efforts by supporting relevant security agencies in protecting lives and property across Zamfara State.
The PDP senatorial candidate also promised to champion the resettlement of internally displaced persons whose communities were devastated by bandit attacks, particularly within the Zamfara Central Senatorial District.
According to him, the people of Zamfara deserve representatives who will effectively articulate their concerns in the Senate and ensure that their challenges receive the attention of the National Assembly.
Dr. Turaki assured the people of Zamfara Central that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him if elected.
"The trust you have placed in me to bring development to our people through the Senate is a responsibility I will fulfil, by the grace of Allah.
"That is why I responded to your call to contest for the Zamfara Central Senate seat, following the failure of the current occupant to meet the expectations of the people," he said.
He urged the people of Zamfara State to vote for leaders whose priority is the development and welfare of the people rather than personal interests in the 2027 general election.
