The government of Niger applauded the projects of AcResal in the state. The Commissioner of the Ministry for Environment and Climate, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Kolo, gave the commendations while the former chairman of the board, Malam Usman Garba Ibeto, handed over his resignation letter to the new chairman of the board, Malam Shehu Raji, on Tuesday evening at the main meeting hall of the Niger State Ministry of Works.

At the outset of his statement, the commissioner highlighted that the activities of AcResal, in collaboration with the World Bank, align with the goals of the new government under Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago to develop a new Niger state and bolster the state's economy.

Hon. Kolo urged the former chairman to prepare for his forthcoming assignment from the state government, acknowledging his hard work and courage, particularly in creating job opportunities for the state through initiatives such as the World Bank programs for Fadama, RAMS, UNDP, and NEWMAP to AcResal.

In his opening remarks, the former chairman, Malam Usman Garba Ibeto, expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support from the Ministry of Environment and his colleagues on the AcResal board. He credited this support for positioning Niger State as one of the primary beneficiaries of World Bank services.

With thirty-five years of experience in the field, the former chairman pledged his readiness to contribute to the state's development, particularly in the government's initiative to establish a new Niger state.

The former director in charge of special operations of the AcResal board, now entrusted with managing the board, Malam Shehu Raji, also appreciated the encouragement he received from the former chairman during his tenure. He assured continuity in project execution under his supervision.

AcResal's endeavors, a collaborative effort between state governments and the World Bank, focus on climate change mitigation, combating desertification, improving the environment, expanding agricultural land, and empowering rural communities to withstand environmental challenges.

Malam Usman Garba Ibeto noted that some areas, particularly those affected by security challenges, have yet to benefit from the agency's services. He disclosed ongoing efforts to modify projects in Mokwa and Rafin-gora pending World Bank approval.
