A group of individuals recruited by Federal University Dutsinma Katsina between 2020 and 2023 has formally expressed deep concern and disappointment over the university management's cancellation of their appointment letters.
The affected individuals, who were not captured on the IPPIS platform, said; "we completed all necessary documentation processes and assumed respective duties, only to have our appointment letters subsequently cancelled without any prior notice or justifiable reason provided."
Following the recruitment process, the individuals were issued appointment letters and promptly proceeded with all required documentation, reporting for duty as instructed. However, their appointment letters were unexpectedly cancelled.
The group has respectfully requested several actions by the university management to take.
"Firstly, we are seeking a review and reconsideration of the decision to cancel our appointments, given that we have already assumed our duties as directed by the University. Secondly, we urge the university management to reinstate our appointment letters, allowing us to resume our duties as initially agreed upon," the statement said.
The group also requests clear communication and a transparent explanation for the cancellation of their appointments, including the criteria used for such a decision. Additionally, they seek consideration for any financial losses incurred due to this abrupt cancellation.
In their letter, the group extended their complaint to several key officials, including the Chief Judge of the Federation, the Speaker of the National House of Representatives, the Katsina State Governor, the Chairman of the Governing Council of FUDMA, and the Commissioner of Education.
The letter was signed by the FUDMA Non-Capturing Staff Forum, representing the affected individuals.
