Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, loyal to Aminu Sani Jaji, have reaffirmed the suspension of State Chairman Tukur Danfulani and Secretary Ibrahim Dangaladima.
Speaking to the crowd of stakeholders in Gusau, the State capital, the factional acting chairman of the party, Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya Anka, claimed that the suspended chairman and his secretary had divided the party into different political groups and denied other State executive members their rights.
The acting chairman insisted that the suspended party chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, Secretary Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, and other members who were suspended by their wards due to an internal crisis remain suspended.
According to him, most members of the party in the State have been denied the chance to participate in the party's activities, thereby becoming subversive and working against the party's interest, unity, and development in the State.
He added that due to their detrimental behavior towards the party, a stakeholders' meeting was summoned to discuss issues of unity and overall development, as well as provide an avenue for solving the problems and challenges currently facing the party in the State.
He, therefore, called on the security agencies and the National Headquarters of the APC to prevent these individuals from parading themselves as the leaders of the party henceforth.
The acting factional chairman explained to their supporters that they are aware Zamfara State has been facing security challenges for years. In this regard, the party is always committed to supporting the government and all relevant agencies in addressing the security challenges in all parts of the State.
"We, therefore, appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency, take all necessary measures towards fighting the menace of insecurity and other heinous crimes bedeviling the State," he said.
Speaking further, he mentioned that the people of the State have raised serious concerns over the security situation, hence the need for the president to act now to address the menace so that the people of the State can sleep with their eyes closed.
"I want to use this opportunity to call on party members to continue to pray for peace, progress, and the betterment of the people of Zamfara State and offer special support, understanding, and cooperation to the new leadership of the APC in the State," he added.
"As the Acting Chairman of the party, I would like to assure you of my commitment to the success of the party's unity, progress, and well-being of all members without discrimination, bias, or favoritism."
"I affirm that I will include everyone and, Insha Allah, provide purposeful and strong leadership so that every member feels that they belong and are taken care of by my leadership."
"The APC in Zamfara under my watch shall be an example of good governance, integrity, probity, and transparency with an open-door policy for every member," he concluded.
