The Niger State Government, through the Ministry of Nomadic and Pastoral Affairs, has donated building materials worth millions of naira to victims of Barkuta Village, located in the Beji axis of the Bosso Local Government Area.

The Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Umar Ahmed Sanda Rebe, made the donation during a visit to the community. Represented by the Coordinator of Conflict Resolution in Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Shiroro, the commissioner also introduced the ministry's "Back to School" initiative.

Alhaji Shiroro urged community leaders to prioritize education by ensuring their children return to school. He promised the government’s support through the provision of learning materials for children in the area. Additionally, the ministry pledged to offer alternative skills acquisition programs to help residents diversify their income sources beyond livestock rearing.

In his remarks, Alhaji Shiroro called on nomadic communities to support the administration of Governor Umar Mohammed Bago, emphasizing its commitment to building a better Niger State.

Community leader Alhaji Siddi Gurgabe expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Bago, Hon. Commissioner Umar Ahmed Sanda Rebe, and the ministry’s management team for their support. He assured them that the donated items would be used responsibly and reaffirmed the community's loyalty to the government.

The materials donated include roofing sheets, cement, nails, and other construction essentials.
