No fewer than 2,000 patients have benefited from a free medical outreach organized by the Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, an official has confirmed.

The Council Chairman, Hon. Maniru Abubakar-Warah, disclosed this during the closing ceremony of the outreach held at Warah, the headquarters of the local government.

According to him, the medical team successfully conducted 100 surgeries for individuals suffering from various ailments. Additionally, 1,000 patients received medical examinations, treatment, and essential medications, while 450 pediatric cases were attended to. The program also catered to 50 individuals with eye-related conditions.

Abubakar-Warah emphasized the importance of health in societal development, stating, "Health is wealth. Without good health, one cannot engage in business, farming, or other vital aspects of life." He urged the community to reciprocate the government's efforts by supporting the administration of Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.

He also expressed gratitude to the governor for his continuous support and encouragement, which has enabled local government chairmen to deliver the dividends of democracy to their constituents.

The Head of the Free Medical Outreach, Dr. Mansur Alhasan-Libata, from the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Birnin Kebbi, described the exercise as hitch-free and successful. He commended the patience, discipline, and cooperation of the beneficiaries throughout the program.

A cross-section of beneficiaries interviewed expressed deep appreciation to the council chairman for his foresight and commitment to the well-being of the people, noting that many of them would not have been able to afford medical care without the initiative.
