This question has sparked intense debate, especially after the recent events surrounding the Quds day procession in Abuja on Friday 28th March, 2025 that led to manslaughter of innocent Nigerian taxpayers only for declaring support for the Palestinians and denouncing Israeli aggression.

It could be recalled that during his inauguration, President Tinubu swore to protect the lives and properties of all Nigerians, regardless of their background or affiliations. However, the attack on the peaceful Quds day procession has raised concerns about his administration's commitment to upholding Nigerian values and sovereignty.

The Quds day procession is an international event that takes place annually to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn oppression worldwide. It's disturbing to note that Nigeria, under President Tinubu's administration, is the only country apart from Israel to have attacked this peaceful procession.

This incident has sparked fears that President Tinubu's administration may be shifting away from Nigeria's traditional foreign policy stance of supporting oppressed nations. Instead, it appears to be aligning itself with nations like Israel and the US, which have been criticized for their actions in the Gaza Strip.

Nigerians are now questioning whether President Tinubu has compromised the country's independence by catering to the interests of foreign powers. As one concerned citizen pointed out, the attack on the Quds day procession sets yet another dangerous precedent for Nigeria's sovereignty and raises concerns about the government's priorities.

President Tinubu's election campaign was marked by a quest for votes from all quarters, including those he seemingly intended to harm. Ironically, some of these individuals voted for him, possibly even families of victims, their relatives, and sympathizers. As he potentially gears up for re-election, his administration's unpopularity, particularly due to economic policies that have crippled the nation, raises questions.

What message will President Tinubu convey to the families of those who lost their lives, their loved ones, and supporters, considering these deaths were avoidable? The Nigerian Armed Forces' inconsistent approach to security, appearing weak against criminals and terrorists while strong-arming innocent civilians, further exacerbates the situation. Their human rights violation record is alarming, and their reluctance to reform may ultimately lead to their downfall and a loss of public trust.

President Tinubu should have taken a cue from his predecessor, Buhari, whose administration was marred by controversy, including the Zaria massacre and numerous human rights violations. These incidents significantly tarnished Buhari's image and overshadowed any of his perceived achievements, leading many Nigerians to label his tenure as "wasteful 8 years"

Similarly, President Tinubu's administration is heading down a perilous path. The recent senseless killings of Nigerians, seemingly to appease foreign powers, threaten to undermine his presidency. It's crucial for him to reassess his actions and prioritize the well-being of his citizens.

History has shown that no administration can thrive with the stigma of innocent bloodshed. It's against the fundamental principles of life. The question remains: is President Tinubu truly committed to serving Nigerians, or is he beholden to foreign interests? Only time will tell.
