A Foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state, Alhaji Abubakar Katcha has appealed to governor Mohammed Umar Bago to promptly intervene in ensuring a seamless settlement out of the court on the civil case between him and Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe.
This is contained in a letter sent to the Niger state governor obtained by our reporter in Minna, titled "Request for Intervention on Settlement out of Court and Report Back to Court Between Alhaji Abubakar Katcha and Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe".
Katcha revealed his Civil Case Suit No: NSHC/MN/133/2023 before the High Court No: 3 Minna, Niger state since 2023 to claim N2 billion damages from the accused person Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe has been turned into a money making business ventures neglecting the settlement out of court granted as requested by Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe in November 2024.
He accused those involved that despite he employed the services of another counsel they refused to cooperate with him just to sustain their business as usual, hence the official request for the state governor's Intervention to end the court case by inviting all those involved for discuss.
The former Commissioner of Science and Technology Alhaji Abubakar Katcha noted that sequel to the failure of former deputy governor Mohammed Ahmed Ketso's mediation efforts as directed by his Boss Senator representing Niger North Senatorial District Senator Abubakar Sani Bello there was no option than to seek governor's Intervention.
Earlier, the complainant Alhaji Abubakar Katcha expressed appreciation to the Niger state Chief Judge, Honorable Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik for her swift response to his letter that requested for intervention and clarity on two versions of Court judgements of two different Magistrate courts in Minna Case No: MN/CR/105/ 2019.
He regretd that despite his official letter to the Niger State chapter of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) to investigate its members allegedly involved in his case irregularities no response received to date, described as most unfortunate for trying to protect their members involved in such irregularities and ugly situation created by his former counsels.
The APC stalwart maintained that if Governor Mohammed Umar Bago is unable to resolve the matter forthwith than the next line of action will surely compelled everybody involved to appear before the public domain for a global watch in order to get justice and fairness.
It could be recalled that Alhaji Abubakar Katcha had earlier secured judgment in his favor who was discharged and acquitted by the Chief magistrate court two sitting in Minna on tenth December, twenty twenty one after two years of the court case between him and former Chief of Staff Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe over criminal case.
