The Zamfara State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 526 personnel, 13 patrol vehicles, and two ambulances as part of efforts to ensure a smooth and accident-free Easter celebration in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Aliyu.
Aliyu stated that the command, along with its component units, has made comprehensive arrangements for special patrols and traffic control operations during the Easter festivities to mitigate the risk of road crashes due to increased vehicular movement.
"A total of 526 personnel, including regular and special marshals, have been strategically deployed to critical points across the state for effective traffic management and enforcement," he said.
He added that two ambulances and other operational vehicles will be on standby 24/7 for quick response in case of emergencies, with a tow truck also stationed for rapid clearance in the event of road blockages.
Aliyu further noted that additional personnel have been deployed in collaboration with other security agencies for intelligence gathering and information sharing throughout the festive period.
In addition to enforcement, 46 special marshals have been mobilized to work with other stakeholders in sensitizing and educating motorists and road users on safe driving practices.
The command also announced that it will conduct daily spot assessments of its operations to ensure effectiveness throughout the Easter season.
